Circle of Art: Helping Craft South Africa

Our favorite outreach is creating sustainable trade instead of dependent aid.

A flight from New York to Los Angeles equals the same distance from Rome to Sub Sahara Africa. Our neighbors across the Mediterranean Sea are suffering from circumstances that no other country or people have suffered from in over a century.

In an effort to support sustainable trade and eradicate extreme poverty in Africa, we are asking participants to consider donating their unwanted art supplies to CraftSouthAfrica. At the end of each summer we send packages of art supplies donated by our participants to an accredited MAPP service organization for developing and implementing sustainable craft enterprises and income generation opportunities for South African crafters, located in urban and rural areas. This is achieved through product development and business skills training programs and mentorships.

We provide a drop box at the end of each workshop for participants to leave whatever art supplies they wish to donate. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
