Activities: Cultural Festivals

Umbria is home to several of Italy’s most famous cultural festivals.

It seems that every town and village in the region has its own festival to celebrate the rich heritage, products and passions of the local inhabitants. Some of these festivals are centuries old and have gained worldwide recognition with tickets and hotels selling out months in advance.

The selection of unique festivals in the region is vast and imaginative. You can pig out in Noricia during their February Truffle Fair. Castiglione del Lago has a colorful Tulip Festival in April; there is Todi’s May Antiques Festival, and Cannara’s overlooked Onion Celebration. However the most famous are Orvieto’s World Jazz Festival, Perugia’s EuroChocolate Festival, the Palio, a traditional horse race held in Siena and Amelia, and the Spoleto Festival of art, music & dance known as il Festivale dei Due Mondi.

For a complete listing of festivals that will be happening during your stay, additional contact information and ticket prices, please visit our calendar of events by clicking here.
